Allows For New Growth
clinical approach
Our compassionate team uses proven therapeutic approaches; including DBT, CBT, and trauma-focused therapies; alongside creative expression methods. We personalize your care journey through a thoughtful blend of individual sessions and supportive group experiences, all tailored to your unique needs and goals.

What You Can Expect
In practice, you'll experience DBT in weekly skills groups, CBT through individualized homework assignments, and creative expression through art therapy sessions. Trauma-focused work occurs in both individual sessions and specialized groups, while mindfulness practices integrate throughout your daily schedule. Each week, your treatment team reviews your progress and adjusts approaches based on what's resonating most strongly with your recovery journey.
A Comprehensive Assessment
Our clinical journey begins with a thorough assessment process designed to understand not just your symptoms, but the whole picture of your life and experiences. This multi-dimensional evaluation helps us develop a treatment plan that addresses both immediate concerns and underlying factors.

What We Examine:
-
Current symptoms and their impact on daily functioning
-
Any previous treatment experiences and outcomes
-
Personal and family mental health history
-
Strengths, resources, and support systems
-
Goals and aspirations for recovery
Evidence-Based Care With A Human Touch
We empower residents with essential life skills, such as financial management, cooking, and communication, to build confidence and independence for the future.
Our approach integrates evidence-based therapies tailored to address each person's unique needs. We utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills, while Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps identify and reshape thought patterns that contribute to distress. For those healing from trauma, we offer specialized approaches including EMDR and Seeking Safety. Creative expression finds space through art therapy and experiential techniques, allowing healing to occur beyond traditional verbal processing. Each modality is delivered with cultural sensitivity and adapted to individual learning styles, ensuring that treatment resonates with your personal recovery journey.
The Building Blocks Of Recovery
therapeutic
modalities
We deploy a comprehensive arsenal of evidence-based psychological interventions calibrated to your specific pathology profile. None of this one-size-fits-all therapeutic nonsense. Our clinical toolkit includes everything from rewiring your neural circuitry through cognitive restructuring protocols to advanced emotional regulation techniques that don't involve punching walls or self-medicating. Whether you need the behavioral precision of DBT, the cognitive recalibration of CBT, specialized trauma-processing methodologies, or even non-verbal expressive techniques for when words fail you—we've mastered the technical specifications of each approach and know exactly when to deploy them.
These therapeutic approaches translate into practical skills you'll use daily; from communicating needs effectively and managing difficult emotions to recognizing thought patterns and finding new perspectives. Many clients report that combining different modalities helps them connect with recovery in ways traditional talk therapy alone couldn't achieve.
(DBT)
Don't know how to process your emotional tsunami without capsizing? Our DBT protocol isn't some new-age mindfulness crap—it's tactical neurological reprogramming with empirically validated efficacy rates. We'll rewire your limbic system's maladaptive response patterns through systematic skills acquisition across four critical domains: emotional regulation mechanics, interpersonal effectiveness algorithms, distress tolerance operations, and mindfulness practices that actually work instead of just sounding good on Instagram.
DBT helps develop skills for managing emotions, tolerating distress, improving relationships, and living mindfully. This approach is particularly effective for addressing intense emotions and creating stability in daily life.
(CBT)
CBT isn't about feel-good platitudes; it's about identifying those catastrophic thought loops and cognitive distortions that are royally screwing with your neural operations. We'll systematically dismantle those automatic negative thought patterns, run them through logical analysis protocols, and install more adaptive cognitive subroutines.
CBT focuses on identifying and changing thought patterns that contribute to distress. By examining the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT provides practical tools for creating positive change.
Motivating
Let's cut the psychological manipulation and strategic ambivalence detection out of the clinical jargon and call it what it is: we're going to identify exactly what's keeping your ass glued to the status quo and excavate whatever fragment of motivation might actually get you moving. This isn't cheerleading—it's precision-targeted inquiry designed to resolve your ambivalence and crystallize your change-talk into actionable commitment language.
This collaborative method helps identify motivation for change and build confidence in your ability to make progress. Through respectful exploration, we help clarify your personal values and goals for treatment.
Brain Worms
For those with trauma histories, we offer specialized approaches including Trauma-Focused CBT and components of Seeking Safety. These methods address the impact of trauma while building skills for present-day stability.
your neurobiological alarm system's been hardwired into permanent overdrive by previous psychological injuries. We employ specialized trauma-processing methodologies—not just garden-variety talk therapy—to address that hypervigilance and autonomic dysregulation. Our trauma protocols target both the neurophysiological imprints and maladaptive coping mechanisms you've developed. In tactical terms: we'll help your nervous system understand that the war is over so you can stop living in a perpetual combat zone.
Cre8tif
When your prefrontal cortex can't verbalize the psychological wreckage, sometimes your limbic system needs alternative transmission protocols. Our non-verbal therapeutic interventions bypass your cognitive defenses and access emotional content that's been neurologically sequestered. This isn't kindergarten craft hour - it's systematized non-verbal processing utilizing visual symbolism, kinesthetic engagement, and multisensory integration techniques.
Some experiences are difficult to process through conversation alone. Our art-based and experiential approaches offer alternative pathways for expression, insight, and growth.

TRANSITION
Aftercare & Continuing Support
Your recovery journey extends far beyond residential care. We collaborate with you to develop a personalized aftercare plan that can grow with you as you progress. This includes regular check-ins, alumni group participation, and access to our team during critical transition periods. Our structured step-down approach ensures you're never without support, even as you build increasing independence.
Building Independence
Recovery means developing practical abilities for everyday life. Through dedicated workshops and real-world practice, we focus on essential skills like financial literacy, healthy communication, time management, and self-care routines. Our life skills curriculum addresses the specific challenges of early recovery, providing tools that transform the more abstract therapeutic concepts into daily living practices.

We actively connect you with local support networks, outpatient providers, educational opportunities, and housing resources tailored to your specific needs. Through community partnerships, we facilitate introductions to employment programs, recovery-friendly social activities, and specialized services that create a seamless transition from our program to your next chapter.

What makes Monarch the so notoriously unique from other treatment facilities? Our clinical experts implement a (trigger warning) "highly" personalized approach wein order to figure out what the hell is up with you. We throw that one-size-fits-all treatment plan out the window of this runaway train years ago. Here we take time to understand your specific quirks, ticks and whacky whatevers, and bate our breath through those occasional moments of accidental brilliance. Our comprehensive care model integrate therapies loosely based in evidence but usually with whatever the latest mental health trends have survived our spritely staff meeting dart board debates. We pride ourselves on our affectionately coined "Reality" program, where clients practice everyday skills like not crying in grocery stores, making small talk about apocalyptic theories, and whether or not crypto is right for you. We emphasize building competence in everyday situations, carefully tracking your progress from being a perpetually bemused crack whistle, to functionally bewildered, and finally to our ultimate goal: Basically Normal-ish. Our success rate is loosely based on the classic German iteration of the Hunger Games; basically who survives and who has the best hair.

How long do most individuals typically stay at your facility? While each little snowflake melts down at a different time, so to when it hits the ground. Or in your case, "rock bottom" :) most of God's most favorite little devils stay between 6-12 months, with at least a few weeks spent in solitary in what many have affectionately referred to as 'Mike's deprivation lock box'. and all those voices in your head can make great company! Our record holder, Drool'n Dan has been "just about to leave" since covid. We've even named a wing after him. Your specific program duration will depend on your ability to complete our escape room final exam and is scored using our (surely somewhere) evidence-based, proprietary "Still Weird''assessment scale. Our aftercare planning begins early, typically during admission when we sneakily get you to circle potential discharge dates while distracted by our 47-page consent form. For those resistant to leaving our luxury accommodations, we implement a delightfuly inappropriate clinical-contact program by applying a spirited level of pressure to those traumatic trigger points of yours... and if that doesnt work, we call in Dr. Phil who will come take you out the backdoor for a midnight nap, wearing nothing but a black bag and zip ties. (*Remember that consent form). We have some excellent reviews for that!
-
What should I bring when coming to stay at Monarch Mental Health? We recommend bringing comfortable clothing for 7-10 days, personal hygiene items, 1 or 2 ex girlfriends, an older out of service cell phone any expired medications you're willing to donate. Bring your insurance card, identification (your name scribbled on some paper will do), and a small amount of spending shekels. Personal comfort items like zebra cakes and a cuddle buddy; are welcome, but you actually want to have if/when you graduate, should be left at home. We provide linens, towels, and basic necessities. A detailed packing list will be provided during your intake process, and our staff can answer any specific questions about permitted and prohibited items. Achtung!
-
How involved can family members be in the treatment process? With appropriate consent (and a brief psychological evaluation to determine if they're the reason you're here), family involvement is both welcomed and tolerated. We offer family education sessions where relatives learn that no, you can't "just cheer up," and a 101 on what not to say at thanksgiving this year role-playing workshops. Many find that family participation significantly enhances long-term success, or at least reduces the number of passive-aggressive holiday text messages. We balance family involvement with a bust up dem boundrays protocol, allowing each resident to define exactly how many unsolicited advice sessions they can endure. Our family resource coordinator, a former hostage negotiator, can help navigate these delicate conversations while providing a little chocolate reach-around on those family stress balls; really ensuring everyone is equally heard, loved and finished off.
-
What insurance plans do you accept, and what happens if I don't have coverage?MMH proudly works with most major insurance providers, including Anthem, Medicaid's new Medicants, Sefe's Delightfully Deleterious Scholarships, or whatever poker chips you might have laying around from your last trip to Casar's will do.. Our intake team conducts a financial séance before admission, communing with whatever mysterious spirits you still having clinging on and make sure they have a way to pay too. No one rides for free! After three business days and a few community coffee enemas, we'll present you with a coverage estimate accurate to +/- of whatever, who cares, its not like you'd understand it (or be paying) anyway. For those without insurance or with plans that consider mental health a luxury bone situation, we offer sliding scale options, but we just havent written them out yet. So lets just say its a surprise. In any case, we believe financial circumstances shouldn't prevent access to quality care (or quality drugs), which is why we provide an excellent scientology-based work program as an alternative to all other payment conventions. Who knows, maybe you'll even get to meet Tom Cruise :)
-
What kinds of activities and therapy programs are included in the daily schedule? Our structured daily program delivers a perfect balance of talking about your fee-fees and actually doing something about them. Mornings usually start out at 4:30am where our continental caffeinate before we communicate breakfast, followed by individual therapy sessions where you'll learn your therapist's favorite psychological theory based on which graduate school was cheapest. Our medication consultations feature a grab bag of pill or placebo guessing game, while group sessions teach critical skills like emotional regulations for fuckers who just "can't even" and afternoons showcase our westword faward-winning experiential activities including "fArt Therapy, where you'll finally have a chance to prove that wildly inappropriate kindergarten teacher wrong; Cooking with Brad goes way beyond microwave burritos, and financial literacy with Martin: Warum zum Teufel kannst du dir das nicht leisten! Evenings wind down with community meetings where everyone pretends to care about bathroom cleanliness, and who the fudge keeps using a sharpie on the dry-erase board?! Followed by a mandatory relax or die boot camp. Weekends kick everything up several rated-MA notches with full-contact Jeopardy, Middle Eastern rainbow hunting, and everyone's favorite, the notorious no-high & KY slip'n slide down Seff's gravel driveway where we can all get our weird on, and really celebrate our worst character defects all at once!
-
How do you handle crisis situations or when someone needs additional support? Our 24/7 staffing model ensures immediate response to any escalating situation, with color-coded, full technicolor meltdown protocols. Staff are equipped with military-grade laser pointers for those especially feral clients and tactical fidget spinners for those real emergencies. For the most demanding events, we summon our Mental Health SWAT Team, who arrive in anxiety-reducing tactical PJ's, armed with tickle tasers and lavender bubble grenades. For residents needing a softer touch, our therapeutic overkill package includes hourly check-ins and emotional support cuddle puddles. Local facilities coordinate with us when higher levels of care are needed.
